Ingredients

  • 1 bag tortilla chips about 10 oz
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese or a cheese blend
  • 1 cup cooked ground beef optional, or substitute with black beans for a vegetarian option
  • 1/2 cup refried beans optional
  • 1/2 cup sliced jalapeños optional
  • 1/4 cup diced red onion
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 1/2 cup black olives sliced (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro optional
  • 1/4 cup sour cream for topping
  • 1/4 cup guacamole for topping
  • Salsa for dipping

Instructions

Preheat Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare Toppings:

  • If using ground beef, cook it in a skillet with some seasoning (like taco seasoning or cumin, paprika, garlic powder) until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Prepare any other toppings (diced onions, tomatoes, sliced olives, etc.).

Layer the Nachos:

  • Spread the tortilla chips evenly on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Evenly distribute the cooked ground beef (or beans) over the chips.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese generously over the chips and toppings.

Bake:

  • Bake the nachos in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly.

Add Fresh Toppings:

  • Remove the nachos from the oven. Top with fresh ingredients like diced tomatoes, red onions, jalapeños, and cilantro.

Serve:

  • Serve the nachos with sour cream, guacamole, and salsa on the side. Enjoy!
